on
and Nikki met over a decade ago at an animal hospital just
down the road from the Inn. Jon was a new veterinarian and Nikki was a
receptionist. A few years later they married and discovered that they
both had a passion for big projects. Only a month before their wedding,
they opened Magnolia Animal Hospital on Capital Blvd.
Their latest "big project" is becoming Bed and
Breakfast owners. It had been in their plans for years. They intended to
retire from their animal hospital after 10 years and purchase a B&B.
Until then, Nikki researched the subject and the two even attended a
conference in Cape May, N.J. for B&B owners. Jon and Nikki had
imagined opening up a B&B in Savannah but as plans tend to do, this one
took a bit of a detour. When Cameron Park Inn became available,
everything fell into place. Nikki fell in love with the beautiful old
home and, almost instantly, the couple became B&B owners!
People often ask Nikki if she has done anything
like running an Inn before. Her answer is always, "Yes, but not for
people!"
Jon and Nikki are serious animal lovers. As well
as caring for animals in their hospital, they have some pretty
special
pets of their own. In fact,
during your stay you may see
their dog, Trystan,
or their new cat, 2-year old Tyler Rameses, adopted from the Wake County
SPCA.
